The First New Moon Trailer: Where’s the Drama?

My Take on what the New Moon Trailer should have been like from a reader’s point of view. Chill, I’m not going to criticize everything that was in there, I just thought it was a missing an element.

I was all ready to watch the New Moon trailer on MTV. Sure, they said it was a clip at first but when they said it was a trailer, I was jumping for joy.
The opening was catchy; it grabs your attention and you know what they are talking about. The Birthday scene wasn’t completely as I imagined but there was nothing really wrong with it.
But, when Edward started talking, everything went a bit confusing with what he said. I mean, it sounded like Edward was leaving for Bella. In the book, it is supposed to sound like he is leaving because he doesn’t want her anymore.
Okay, for those who have read the book, we all know that is actually what happened; Edward did leave Bella to keep her safe. But the whole point in New Moon was that Bella thought she wasn’t good enough for Edward, that’s what really breaks her heart. I was waiting for the oh so famous line of ‘You don’t want me?’.
On another note, the scene in the forest didn’t feel dramatic enough. To be honest, it looked like your average walk in the woods on a nice day. One thing I didn’t see in the entire section ,plus the scene of her lying on the floor, was Bella’s expression. They didn’t show much of it which didn’t entirely get the atmosphere across to the viewer.
All in all, it was a fairly good first trailer. It did the main job of catching your eye. The Wolf was awesome; exactly how I imagined it. And yes, Taylor Lautner has definately been working out. Hopefully, the next trailer will capture the emotion in it better.
Can’t wait. I’m thirsty for more.

I think the new moon trailer is just something to keep the twiligt-fans alive … to give them a little from the movie. i also think that the scene in the forest should be more dramatic but maybe they r not already finished with cutting!
… i’m very excited about the volterra – scene- i will visit volterra in summer. i can’t wait for some more posters from the movie or trailers. i really love twilight and can’t wait to see more from the movie. i hope in the movie they will show the truth why edwards is leaving bella! 
I loved the New Moon trailer and can’t wait to see the whole movie in November! I think maybe some things didn’t come across as expected, but then a trailer is very limited in what they can show. It’s ment to just catch your attention and get you excited about the movie. In that, I think it accomplished the objective very well.

I completely agree.I really didn’t understand Edward hugging Bella at the end,he’s supposed to be really horrible so she thinks he doesn’t want her.And also Kirsten’s expression was not great.She wasn’t crying or even showing any signs of being distraught.Loved the Jacob/werewolf transformation!
I think the forest scene will be great with the movie, but they cant show much in the trailor, I’ve read diffrent people saying that scene is really intense. I think the trailor gave us just enough. With the pices the put together. I know I cant wait!
Yeah, movie trailors can get you off the track, at times. Sometimes we don’t always get to see what we are hoping for. But,it appears that what will probably happen is that Bella will not get hit by her unhappiness for Edward leaving her till finally when he is gone. That probably explains why she is not crying in the trailor…maybe. (But then it is a trailor, too. We don’t , always, know what they will show us in the movie). And in the book, it talks about how four months go by and that is when she sort of wakes up. That is when everything starts to happen. I loved the trailor as it is. I’m especialy excited to be introduced to the Wolf Pack, actually. And of course to see all of the amazing effects.
Well I have to say WOW!! This trailer really made me want to see the movie…so I guess it did its job 100 fold!!! The transition Jake/wolf was so fantastic I put it on my MySpace profile page. I never saw the Twilight movie trailer…I actually started reading the book first and halfway through, which I now admit was a mistake, I saw the movie. I thought it was done very simple-like, without using a lot of over-the-top stuff like CGI and whatnot. I don’t think it was perfect, but for the story it portrayed I watched with eager eyes and I did dream about it for several nights after! I am doing the re-read and am currently on the New Moon book, I think with the movie they will have to change stuff to fit it into a movie, but the “just” of the story will still be there!
It won’t possibly be the way each one of us sees it in our heads, but everyone sees things differently anyway! All I expect, and believe I WILL get from the movie….of that I have no doubt! Most amazin!! edge of your seat!! best flick I every want to see!!

I think that the “trailer” is just a teaser for the extended trailer that is soon to come. As we all know you can not judge the movie off just a trailer alone because they always piece and cut to only show little details of each seen. It could play out to be totally different. Either way I think it will be great!
I loved the trailer. I had goosebumps from my head to my toes. But I was hoping to hear the line ” It will be as if I never existed”. I hope it makes it into the movie.
Ok the New Moon trailer it was obviously awesome but what about some of the scenes man!!??? For one in the beginning when she says “Its my birthday. Can I ask for something. Kiss me.” that is all good but what about the birthday party scene? Isn’t everytrhing supposed to be in pink and yes there are flowers everywhere. But what about the forest scene. It just doesn’t look agonizing enough. I was really waiting one the line “It will be as if I never existed.” but I didn’t see it. Now lets talk about the scene where Laurent is threating Bella and Jake cums to the rescue shall we? For one aesome transformation!!! Team Taylor/Jacob!!! WooHoo!! Anyway Bella isn’t supposed to find out he is a wolf till later in the book and the whole pack is supposed to be there too, All in all I thinkit will be awesome I can’t wait!!
Well, I tottaly agree. The trailer was for sure not what I expected. Especialy the forest scene…I mean GOD…did you guys see his expression? It was sooo OMG!!! I mean I do that face when I struggle to remember something and not when I (hypothetiacaly) leave my one and true love!
I was also really dissapointed because I didn’t see(hear) any of the expected lines…”it will be as I never existed” or “So you don’t want me?!?” well you know what I mean!
The only thing that I really loved was Jacob’s transformation!!! It was GREAT!!!
Cause I don’t want to be any misunderstanding I absolutely ADORE twilight (the movie) and the 4 books of Stephanie Meyer (twilight,new moon,eclipse,breaking dawn).

I agree with you on the forest scene. I also didn’t like how they had the vampire attacking Bella in front of Jacobs house and Jacob transitioning in front of her. That wasn’t at all like the book. I liked the books version better.
It’s a trailer… I agree that there was a lot more that I wanted to see but I’m also very sure that there will be a lot more to all the scenes. Laurent didn’t attack Bella in front of Bella house, look at what she wearing… the jabob scenes are different pieces put together. I think when it’s all said and done we will all be very happy.

Can someone PLEASE help me out on this new moon trailer?
ok so first, there is just something wrong with it. its just wrong! i mean first of all, bella is way to pretty in the trailer! bella is supposed to be an average looking girl in human eyes. and she looks so incredible! and second, everyone is talking about how the whole pack is supossed to save her from laurant and if you look closely you will see that the ending scene isn’t one scene at all, but two. when she runs off into the forest away from laurant she is wearing a backpack and a blue shirt. then when she falls she is wearing a brown shirt. so there is only two possibilities: 1. they just made a mistake and forgot she was wearing a blue shirt (not likely) 2. that the part wear she was wearing a brown shirt is a dream or a different scene (most likely). And with the birthday scene, really? who throws a present like that? and why does edward look so upset during the party? he looks like he wants to murder his family! i mean really? i they ever going to look happy and in love in these movies? how are they going to pull off a happy family? they better work on some new facial expressions. and i am not critiscizing (i didnt spell that right) there acting but they always have the same expression. But a few good things are that alice is very happy about the birthday, so thats good(: and rosalie looks mad and jealous and she really got that acting down. The goodbye scene looks very hurtful and sad…they should make new moon tissues that say “don’t worry he’ll be back at the end” and we could use those at the theatre(: And last but certainly not least, taylor lautner’s abs! i paused the t.v and stared at them for litterly a whole 3 minutes! I love it!! he is so perfect for jacob!finally someone who is perfect for the part! and if you read this whole post please tell me whats going wrong with this movie! tell me your thoughts! thanks for you time(:

well everybody is right for there part and the trailer is not confusing at all i think it is perfect and i think all the actors or all doing great job at showing their expressions.
I was thinking exactly the same thing! Everyones telling me to wait till the actual movie is out so I can see the whole break up scene before I judge it, but Im VERY disappointed in how it seems to be too “nice” of a break up. I cried while reading New Moon because of the pain that Bella went through. It really was SO SAD. Edward said “Youre no good for me” and I was really hoping for that same emotional scene from the book to be in the movie as well
I love the New Moon poster. It makes you wonder what is going through the Edward and Jacob’s mind.

Just to let you know in case you haven’t been told or already figured out, the scene where Jake turns into a wolf and jumps into the air isn’t actually the same scene as the Laurent scene (Thank God!); she wears different clothes. Anyway, they have yet to show us how good the movie really is. Keep commenting, you guys rock!

I was VERY disapointed too, but it wasn’t the first time.
I mean… Twilight’s trailer was EVEN better, but the movie didn’t get there for me.
…But I used to saw it more then 10 times by day! I wanted more, and more, and more… but New Moon looks without any emotion for me.
You know, Kristen appears to be just “Oh, this is SO boring”
In the extras on the Twilight DVD, she said: “When I accepted be a part of this, I didn’t know where I was getting myself into”
She said she dont like the movie. Or the story, anything.
Robert is better, but.. WHAT WAS THAT FACE IN THE BIRTHDAY SCENE?
He looks like: “Bella, you’re disgusting”
I just hate Chris Weitz on this by now. For me, Catherine was not the best one, but she was much better than him.
I didnt like the wolf too. Looks very cute to be a werewolf.
Taylor looks great as Jacob, Jackson as Jasper and Ashley is PERFECT as Alice. But the principal characters are…!

well i thought that the New Moon trailer was very real and nothing was wrong with it.i also think that all the people that play the characters are made for the part they just fit in with it.
