Richard Hatch tries to break out of Prison for a Survivor comeback

The TV show Survivor is a cult phenomenon. And everyone remembers it’s clothes optional first winner Richard Hatch.
Hatch won Survivor in 2000 along with it’s million dollar prize, then decided taxes were optional too. Right now Hatch is serving a four year, three-month prison sentence for not paying his taxes on the winnings.
Hatch asked a federal appeals court to let him out early so he can participate in the 10th anniversary edition of Survivor which is taking place in Samoa. He is spending the last 3 months of his sentence in home confinement. He wants to participate in the show so he can pay the $400,000 he still owes the government.
Federal prosecutors denied him though saying he, “might not return to the U.S. if allowed out of the country and would fail to pay his bill.”
Wow, Really!! Richard really will do anything won’t he. Did he seriously think they would let him out?
