After two kids and three years together Nicole Richie and Joel Madden have decided to tie the knot.

Joel put the following on his twitter:

“Yep. i’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so your all kind of late on that. But Thanks for the hooplah all the same,” Madden Tweeted Monday night, after news of their plans to wed went wide. He also expressed thanks to relatives who did not let word of the engagement slip.

He Tweeted: “P.s. thats why i love my family and friends. None of them are sources. All good tight lipped people who let us enjoy it! Thanks everybody”

Congratulations to the couple.

Nicole Richie and Joel Madden welcome their second child together…a beautiful baby boy. In the wee hours of the night, Sparrow James Midnight Madden was born.
On Nicole’s site she says Sparrow weighs 7 lbs and 14 ounces. The 2 have been together since 2006 and have no plans to wed.

Congratulations! Another interesting name for a celebrity baby.
